Forest Cirriculum - Listening workshop

Location: Bang Ka Chao Park, Bangkok

About the workshop
Liew Niyomkarn invites participants to engage in an auditory exploration of Bang Ka Chao, an
artificial island formed by a bend of the Chao Praya River, popularly referred to as Bangkok’s
“green lung”. The workshop aims to activate our listening bodies to the surrounding acoustic
environment through a short listening exercise and an hour-long soundwalk. The sonic landscape,
collectively experienced, will be discussed and re-presented in the form of a collaborative
soundmap, a subjective and ever-changing terrain imagined with affective, attentive, and
associative ears. This soundmap can also be a graphical score for performance in the future.
